Ticking Time Bomb Beneath Our Seas
CROMACH presents a talk on a hidden threat beneath our seas.
There are over 8,000 potentially polluting shipwrecks (PPWs) worldwide, many dating back to the World Wars. Inside them are an estimated 20 million tonnes of oil, along with unexploded ordnance and toxic heavy metals.
As these wrecks corrode, the risk of leaks grows — threatening marine life and coastal communities.
